Author Spotlight: Tracy Solheim

When the game is love, everybody wins!

So many new authors! So little time! Who’s got that magic formula for thirty-hour days? Because I need more time! There are so many amazing authors I want to read, so many incredible backlists to get lost in, and there just seriously are not enough hours in a day.

Tracy Solheim’s been on my TBR for a while. And yes, it is for a very specific reason. Because I am very tied to my adopted hometown of Baltimore. And Tracy has a series centered around a fictional NFL team, the Baltimore Blaze.  She also writes romantic suspense novels, and I am itching to dive into her protector romance series Men of the Secret Service. And then there’s the Chances Inlet contemporary small-town romance series set in North Carolina. So many great opportunities for escape. And I will get there!

But until I do, I brought in a dear friend and fellow book blogger, Jess from Jessie’s Reading Corner, to bring us all up to speed on why Tracy Solheim is someone we should all read.

Jess first found out about Tracy Solheim and her books when Tracy signed on to be an attending author at Charm City Romanticon. I love how readers fill their TBRs with authors at events they’ll be attending. It creates a really wonderful connection between authors and readers.

When I asked Jess what themes stood out in Tracy’s books, she was quick to point out second chances and family. And as I love second chance romances and family is always a strong draw for me, that notched those books up even higher on TBR. But when Jess also told me Tracy has a way of sucking you into her stories with insane chemistry between her heroes and heroines? Yep—bring it! I love when that chemistry hits hard and hits right!

What really caught my attention was this little tidbit Jess shared about Tracy: “Aside from being an author, Tracy’s career has taken her from writing a monthly column in a local newspaper, to writing reports for Congress, and even a stint in television production. I’m almost positive those career choices have influenced some of the stories that she has written.”

And now I am even more excited about diving into Tracy’s books and meeting her at Charm City Romanticon in April!

Just the facts by Jess:

First book Jess read by Tracy: Back to Before (Chances Inlet, #1)

What Jess loves most about Tracy’s books: Tracy has a way of sucking you into her stories. She also writes insane chemistry between her heroes and heroines!

Jess’s fave book by Tracy: Game On. I absolutely adore Shane and Carly in this story! If you like a forbidden football romance between a quarterback with a bad boy rep, and the coach’s sister-in-law, grab this book today! (It’s not on KU, but it’s free on Amazon!)

Jess’s fave Tracy character: Shane Devlin from Game On. Shane spent most of his life holding a grudge over his father, and he uses that to fuel not only his professional life, but his personal one as well. He can come across as an asshole to some people, but he’s putting on a front to hide the lonely boy inside.

Jess’s fave Tracy cover: I’m obsessed with this cover of Game On. I found it on Goodreads when I started reading it. I believe this is the first cover that Tracy used for the book as it has a different cover now.
