Author Spotlight: Maryann Jordan, Where sweet meets steamy and happily ever afters steal your heart!

As I spend more time in Romancelandia, I become more and more convinced that this is where I’ve found my tribe. And I’m seriously grateful author Maryann Jordan and guest blogger Wendy Simek are part of it. I met Maryann through the amazing Protector Romance Reader Group on Facebook. And I know I met Wendy through a book group as well, but I honestly don’t remember which one. Because it could have been one of many.

Like me, Wendy is a voracious reader of all things romance, and she’s become a wonderful friend. As I continue to include other readers’ voices in my author spotlights, I reached out to her for all things Maryann Jordan.

Wendy found Maryann Jordan’s books through a Facebook ad.  See, those socials really are important. It’s amazing how those ads can grab our attention and lead us down such a fantastic path, encouraging us to build our TBRs and take that deep dive into a new author.

Maryann’s books incorporate Romantic Suspense with elements of found family and focus on military, law enforcement and public heroes. Oh, yeah, one thing Wendy and I have in common is a deep appreciation for and huge draw to those growly protectors. They are quite addicting.

Wendy loves how Maryann’s books grab you and keep you in the story for the entire ride. Her alpha heroes and resilient heroines provide the right mix of suspense and romance. That’s something that always pulls me into an author’s backlist—that depth of intensity and intimacy inherent in the story that keeps leading me to the next book in a series.

Maryann writes characters who are down to earth and alphas at the same time. And that’s a blend that can be really difficult to get just right. But with a backlist of more than seventy books, Maryann definitely has the skills and experience to create well developed characters in memorable situations that elevate the heart rate and the heat. Plus, that element of found family creates even more depth and connection within the series she writes.

I’m already invested in diving into Maryann’s books soon because, well, she is an amazing human, and romantic suspense is my catnip, but Wendy says if you’re a fan of authors like Brynne Asher, Susan Stoker and Riley Edwards, you are going to love Maryann’s books as well.

I haven’t had a chance to meet Maryann yet, but I will be meeting her in March at Charm City Romanticon. In the meantime, Wendy and I both find joy in hanging out in Maryann's Facebook group. It’s one of those engaging and fun places where readers can gather to celebrate all the things we love about Maryann and her books.

And since I mentioned I haven’t read Maryann’s books yet, I wanted to mention the fact that most authors welcome new or not-yet readers in their reader groups. Honestly, it’s one of the things I love the most about indie authors in Romancelandia.  Because what better way to become immersed in an author's world and get drawn into their books than to interact with other readers who already fangirl/guy that author.
