Author Spotlight: Kaylee Rose, Real Romance with Heart and Soul
Sometimes I become aware of an author through something book related, but not the books they write. That’s the case with Kaylee Rose. I found Kaylee through Julie Collier and my first introduction to Kaylee was through The Redhead’s Book Blog. I love checking out what other bloggers are reading. Because, let’s be honest, TBR enablers gotta stick together.
In addition to blogging and writing novels, Kaylee puts her creative brain to work designing amazing author swag, including the custom author tumblers that I love and use constantly. Her on-line store is stocked with lots of goodies created with her readers, and readers in general, in mind. I mean, come-on, what romance reader doesn’t want an adorable stuffed peen and a tumbler with their fave authors’ names on it?
And yeah, her sense of humor and creativity drew me to Kaylee pretty quickly. I’ve had several occasions to chat with her, and I am so looking forward to meeting her in march, but Since I haven’t read Kaylee’s books (yet!), I reached out to another bookish friend and Kaylee fan for some insight into Kaylee’s novels.
Carli doesn’t remember how she originally found Kaylee Rose’s books. It may have been a Facebook ad. But when you move within a number of groups on social media, things start to blend. What readers do know is that when you’ve found someone you resonate with, you tend to stick with them and go on a glorious series binge and read all the things.
Carli is a fan of Kaylee’s Protector Romance stories with their strong elements of family, especially families coming together to protect their own. And Carlie loves that Kaylee writes what she knows. Her The Weight of the Badge series is based around a LEO and an aunt who would do anything for her niece. Kaylee is the wife of a LEO and that enables her to bring a different perspective than someone who writes without having lived it.
Readers who love bodyguard, protector, and security guard books, and stories with strong family dynamics are going to love Kaylee’s books. Carli was drawn to it because she identified with the characters in the books, specifically the childhood Rory she was having before her Aunt Kellie started raising her.
Some advice from Carli: Be prepared to cry. Be prepared to have your feels hit, especially if you identify with Rory the way that she did.
Kaylee also has a brand new sports romance series, The Venom Baseball Romance series, debuting March of 2023.

Kaylee is just one of the authors Carli and I are looking forward to meeting at Charm City Romanticon. And yeah, I will most likely be wandering the event with my author tumbler in hand. And maybe a tiny plush peen on my shoulder ;-)
