Author Spotlight: Cecelia Mecca/ Bella Michaels
Your Escape Awaits
Two very different authors, one beautiful human? Sounds like a sci-fi movie plot, but it’s actually quite common in real life. Many authors are finding the best way to write multiple and diverse subgenres of romance is to create multiple pen names for their different subgenres. And Cecelia Mecca, who also writes as Bella Michaels, is one such author.
I reached out to my St@lkerSister and dear friend Rhon to fill me in on all things Cecelia and Bella. And in this week’s Author Spotlight blog post, I’m bringing you all the details directly from Rhon.
Take it away Rhon:
BB: How did you first hear about/ find Cecilia Mecca and/or Bella Michaels?
RH: I tripped over an ad for her Brotherhood of the Border series, followed by a recommendation from a friend. Who can resist a historical romance set in the Scottish borderlands? Not me! Then I stumbled on to her pen name, Bella Michaels, and fell into her small-town romances set in Upstate New York’s wine country, which just happened to be set in my hometown (kind of).
BB: What do you like most about her books?
RH: Cecelia/Bella writes believable characters, rich with family ties and steamy romantic chemistry. Her stories incorporate action, humor, and characters you wish you could meet in person.
BB: What else should readers know about her and her books?
RH: I have just begun my journey into Cecelia/Bella’s books, and so far it has been a wonderful ride.
So, based on what Rhon said, I really need to get my butt in gear and dive in. I have several books from Bella’s backlist on my Kindle, and Pop and Pour is on my short list. I mean, come on, grumpy hero, small-town romance, a winery… it’s like she knows me. And military romance? Oh, yes please!
And please don’t unalive me, y’all, but I’ve never read a historical romance. I know, I know! I will, I promise! And I am definitely looking forward to reading Cecelia’s collection.
Something else I’m really looking forward to: meeting Cecelia at Charm City Romanticon 2024. Every interaction I’ve had with her has been warm and genuine. She is truly a lovely person and I cannot wait to add a whole slew of her gorgeous covers to my shelves of signed treasures.
Just the facts:
First book you read by Cecelia/ Bella: The Son of a Rogue
Fave book by Cecelia/ Bella: I love her Kitchy Falls series, and I can’t pick just one.
Fave Cecelia/ Bella character: I won’t slide down the slippery slope of picking just one, her characters are all dynamic and alive, and the types of people you need in your life.
Fave Cecelia/ Bella cover: The Son of A Rogue… I mean, really doesn’t Man Chest always win?
