Goddess of Sexual Tension

You know those people who just radiate amazing energy? You could be having the worst day, but you see a picture of their smiling face on a post or in a memory and your mood is instantly brightened. Or you’re in a massive reading slump, so you pick up a favorite read or their newest release and are instantly immersed in a happy place because of the language and intensity they infuse in their stories. Or they walk into a room and the lights seem brighter and everyone’s vibe amps up to another level of happy.

If you’ve met, read something by, or even seen a photo or video of Kathryn Nolan, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Not only does she have the brightest smile in Romancelandia, the biggest heart and kindest personality, she writes some of the steamiest and most wonderful words I have ever read.  Kathryn knows how to bring the heat. Seriously, I’m waiting for my bookshelf to spontaneously combust each time I add one of her paperbacks. But her stories are not only seriously sensual, they are deliciously deep in their determination to portray strong, independent characters. They have incredible layers of heart, with relevant and believable vulnerability. And HEAs that will make you cheer, cry, and fist-bump your book bestie (or your book, if your bestie isn’t nearby).

I first found Kathryn through the Bluewater Billionaires series. I read Wild Open Hearts and I was 100% hooked! I needed more of that energy. Out of the Blue had just released, and I dove right into it. Yep, absolutely the best decision I could have made. It resonated with me on a level I didn’t expect. At all. Incorporating a deeper theme of inequity in sports and girl power, the message within the mystery brings even more power to the words on the page. And I floved it. And I needed more.

So I binged her blacklist, losing myself in the strength, power, and love of Strictly Professional and Not the Marrying Kind, finding myself immersed in On the Ropes, captivated by Rival Radio, enthralled with Off the Mark, and most recently, absolutely enchanted by Keep You Both

Beyond being a brilliant talent, she is unapologetically and beautifully expressive in her self and her sexuality. Her characters reflect her strength, her determination, and the power in the belief that love is love. Whether it’s between characters from opposite ends of the power and wealth spectrum, characters finding their way through troubling times and life-changing events, or beautiful humans learning how to find their love and happy in a relationship that defies convention or societal norms, Kathryn brings them through it and to it, creating bonds that transcend her characters and reach her readers on deeply personal and powerful levels.

Even more than all of that, I love the way she brings readers into her life through her newsletter and her reader group, sharing her travels, her successes, her struggles, her real life HEA, and of course, Walter. It’s the little peeks into her life and love, that human element, that help us all feel like we’re loved just being in her circle. And that no matter where you start on your journey, and how many speed bumps you encounter, you’re gonna be okay. Because love finds a way, and so will we.

I’ve experienced the joy of a real-life Kathryn hug, had the opportunity to chat and laugh with her on several occasions, and most recently got a chance to hang out with her while recording a St@lkerSisters podcast with her and my book besties. And I’ll get to experience that joy again when Kathryn joins us for Charm City Romanticon 2024. And I cannot freaking wait!
