The Christmas Crush

Heat & Heart for the Holidays

Tis the season to find a cozy spot to settle into with some hot cocoa and a good book. And every now and then the book is steamier than cocoa and the emotions in the story bring a warmth that lasts so much longer than your drink. That was certainly the case with The Christmas Crush by Lyndsey Gallagher. It really is the perfect blend of heat, hilarity, and heart.

Holly’s story is so much every girl's fantasy, but in such a believable package. It’s Hollywood hotshot meets small town girl. It’s revenge served with a side of righteous indignation. It’s besties who share your pain and bring the bubbly with the support. It’s letting go of past hurts to create new connections. It’s Christmas cheer and spirited fun with a bit of a message entwined in the tinsel.

Because, sure, it features an epically swoony hero, a relatable and loveable heroine, a hilariously adorable meet-cute, and a grand gesture. And the supporting characters are wonderful and bring their own hilarious spin to the story. But it also incorporates some very relevant issues in a digital and social media focused society that might give you some pause to reflect on as well. And the villain, yep there’s one of those too, is truly worthy of his comeuppance. And he’s a great catalyst for the entire joyful and humorous HEA Holly and Nate deserve.

The Christmas Crush is an easy story to sink into, is standalone readable, and makes a great entry point to Gallaher’s other books. It’s definitely one I’m looking forward to reading again as well.
