Author Spotlight: Jaime Lewis, Steamy SEALS with Stories to Tell
You wanna hear a meet-cute story? Bookwyrm Cheryl B was attending her first romance convention and was a total basket case (her words). Nervous, excited and terrified all rolled into one big ball of "freaking myself out!" (We’ve all been there, right?) She went in, got registered, and came out into the mind-melting Florida heat and saw this lovely lady sitting outside. She instantly went fangirl crazy, walked up to her and said, "Please don't think I'm a total crazy, buuut.. are you Jaime Lewis?" She looked surprised that Cheryl recognized her! Cheryl is pretty sure she actually went "SQUEEEEE!!!!" when Jaime confirmed that’s who she was! Cheryl found out it was Jaime’s first convention, too. How fun is that?
And the rest, as they say, is history. Cheryl had a fantastic kick-off experience to her first bookish event, and told me Jaime is one of the absolute nicest people she has gotten to meet, and is honored to think of her as a friend!
I’ve had the good fortune and honor to meet Jaime in person as well, and yep, I agree, Jaime is a stellar human being. She is truly kind, genuine, and personable. Her books are high on my TBR, but I’m still working my way to her backlist. So, I asked Cheryl to help me out with some info on why all y’all should join me in reading all of Jaime’s books. Who’s in for a buddy read with me?
Cheryl honestly doesn't remember how she found Jaime’s books. She’s guessing it may have been through the Protector Romance Reader Group on Facebook Or it may be my fault. When I asked her about it she said, :I'm going with your fault, you enabler, you!😁” Ok. I’ll own that. I am an unabashed TBR enabler. I will never every deny that. Or try to stop. Because I love to hype and spread the word about indie romance authors. Even ones I haven’t read yet. And, yep, I hype Jaime. Because like I said- she’s an awesome human.
Jaime’s books are definitely a must for readers who love military/protector romance stories. Cheryl calls them SEAL team heaven. And yep, that’s one of the places I love to spend reading time. Cheryl and I love a lot of the same authors, and those protectors are definitely HVTs (high value targets) on our reading lists.
Cheryl loves how Jaime’s military heroes find their unique counterparts and their HEAs. And how many of the women are badasses in their own ways. As I’m a big fan of a get-it-done heroine, I know these books are going to resonate with me. And when Cheryl said there’s also a big element of a supportive sisterhood through the books, I knew it would be right up my alley.
Jaime’s books drew Cheryl in and made her want to stay in their world. She found herself literally losing hours to the stories, she was so engrossed! Plus, she told me Jaime’s characters are amazing, and the details are mind boggling. While the technicalities are there, they don't bog down the storyline.
So, if you’re a reader who likes alpha males that fall hard and women that support each other, these books are your catnip!
