Author Spotlight: Hannah McBride, Angsty, Twisted, Steamy Bully Romance
I know we’ve all heard the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover.” And I know we all have done that and bought a book based on the cover alone anyway. And, yep, I did that recently because to be quite honest the cover is stunning. Have you seen the covers of Hannah McBride’s Mad World series? Because if you have, you probably own those books too.
And even though I bought the books for the covers, I haven’t had a chance to read them yet. But I know someone who has. And that’s why I’ve asked St@lkersister Rhon to co-write this week’s blog with me.
Rhon found out about Hannah through one of my favorite author TBR enablers, Author Avery Maxwell. Yep the same Avery Maxwell who is the reason for at least 60 books on my tbr. Because let’s face it, when an author I love tells me to read someone’s books, I don’t question it. I just feed Audrey II and binge read. Apparently, Rhon does the same thing. Great minds and all.
Hannah has a new adult/college sports romantic suspense series (Mad World), a Young Adult Shifter PNR series (Blackwater Pack), and has been featured in multiple anthologies. I love the variety in her books. And based on what told me about the dark element with strong themes of chosen family and enemies to lovers in her Mad World series, yeah, I know I’m gonna fall hard for those books. And I am excited to dive back into some PNR books, too. Plus, those covers are pretty stunning as well.
Rhon loves the way Hannah’s books draw you in and make you feel like part of the family. That’s a biggie for me, too. I always find I’m more likely to enjoy a series when I feel invested in the characters and their stories.
Rhon kinda cemented my desire to read Hannah’s books when she said readers who enjoy well developed romantic suspense, sports and twisty plots will love Mad World. Because, um, yes please!
Rhon had the chance to meet Hannah in person at last year’s Indies Invade Philly (IIP) and told me she is a genuinely lovely person. I’m going to meet Hannah this week at IIP and I honestly can’t freaking wait. Yes, I am bringing Mad World with me for Hannah to sign. I’m trying to limit myself to one book per author since they get really heavy. But, I’ll get to see her again at Charm City Romanticon and I’ll have her sign the rest of her books there, because then I can send them all home with The Hubster. And I need to find a way to display the Mad World books so those covers shine. Because, seriously, they are gorgeous.
