Author Spotlight: Golden Angel

Heart & Bottom Warming Romance

At this point in my journey through Romancelandia, I find myself following several author I haven’t read yet. I’m typically drawn to them through other readers, other authors, or their social media. Something about them just resonates with me and I add their books to my TBR, often buying paperbacks I haven’t even read yet for them to sign. Golden Angel is definitely one of those authors. I actually started following her when a friend told me she lives not far from me and recommended I reach out to her about attending Charm City Romanticon (CCR) 2023 as a signing author.

Well, I did reach out to her about CCR, she did attend as a signing author, and I became even more invested in getting to know her. Because, quite honestly, beyond writing steamy and sassy books, she is a fantastic freaking human being.

Not only does she write and actively participate in Romancelandia as an author, she’s become a major voice for helping authors grow in their craft and their industry, and I have so much respect for everything she does.

Her TikToks are fantastastic. Not only are they fun and book related, but her series of videos called Just the Tip is impressive, not only in their scope of ideas and topics covered, but in their intention. Here is a romance author offering FREE advice to others via TikTok!  You don’t see that often in any industry.

Having met her at Knockout Bookbash and chatted for a bit at WriteWomen Bookfest, I first got a chance to really hang out with Golden a few days before Shameless Book Con in November of 2022. She joined me, Julie, and several authors in all stages of their careers at an ice cream social. We talked about books, family, life in general, and her amazing efforts to share her knowledge of writing and publishing with other authors, to help make the indie romance community even stronger and more connected. And when CCR2023 rolled around, I watched her share her knowledge and love of her craft with another group of authors over pizza and wine. I love her passion for what she does. And I love how she does it. She is so incredibly genuine, and an absolute bright light of a person. Her talent goes beyond the words she puts on the page. She’s humorous, and caring, and motivated, and intensely passionate about helping others achieve the same success she has.

Last year I asked St@lkersister Rhon to guest blog with me, and I reached out to her again this year. So, now I’m turning it over to her for all the bookish love about Golden:

So about a year ago, when I was just a hype girl before I was voluntold as a co-producer of CCR, I might have (totally did) recommended Golden Angel to anyone and everyone I knew who had eyes, including Michelle. I stumbled over her work by accident following comments of a friend of a friend to her book, Bondage Buddies. I read it and became an instant Superfan!  “Friends with Benefits, but with rope” is my comfort zone, and Bondage Buddies had it in spades. Here’s the link to my review.

Golden approaches all of her romances with the same unabashed, authentic enthusiasm she exudes over all her social media presence. She is a multi-genre author writing everything from aliens to historicals to some of the most authentic alphabet romances (BDSM OMG) I have read.

I’m a total #whychoose reader, and I love them all. But my favorite is always the one I am reading now, and my most recent is Taco Daddy, part of her Daddies Everywhere series. It’s funny and steamy and includes all the best of what Golden Angel does so well.

The more of Golden’s work I read, the harder it is for me to choose a favorite character, Domi... Mitch…or maybe Janie, to drop a vague reference for those familiar with Golden Angel’s darker alter ego Sinistre Ange, they are all the kinds of people you recognize from your daily lives, maybe just a tad less inhibited.

Golden is such a diverse writer that her covers sport a wide range of images and styles. I adore her historical covers because they are reminiscent of the bodice rippers I read as a teen, but Benedict's Commands (Bridal Discipline Book 4) and Spy Season: A Deception & Discipline Novella (Deception and Discipline Book 4) are just so damn pretty, and Sinestre Ange’s newest Black Light Temptation cover is steamy perfection. But, no matter what your preference, you really won’t find a bad cover anywhere in her backlist.

I was thrilled to meet Golden in person at CCR 2023, she is as engaging and friendly in person as she seems online, and I can’t wait to see her again next year!
