Author Spotlight: Angela Taylor
Steamy Frisky Fun
I love looking back at the many ways I’ve connected to so many amazing authors over the past several years. Some I’ve found through social media and groups, some through other readers, and still others through other authors. Quite often I connect with an author as a person and friend before I even read their books. And Angela Taylor is one of those authors. I met her through Charissa Gracyk, an author and dear friend who is part of a multi-author Facebook group called Shades of Romance. I’ve since read Angela’s books and am looking forward to reading more from her, but decided to turn the reins for this week’s blog over to Charissa. Because hearing about an author from another author who knows them so well is a really wonderful way for other readers to see what we love so much about Angela.
Guest blogger, Charissa Gracyk:
I first met Angela in 2021 in a Facebook group and we hit it off right from the beginning. After chatting through messages, we discovered we had so many things in common and decided we were long-lost soul sisters. Even though it started out as a joke, I do consider Angela to be a sister. Maybe not by blood, but we’re definitely “found family” like so many of the characters we write and love. She’s always been there when I’ve needed someone to talk to and her dry sense of humor comes through in her books which are always loaded with witty banter between the characters.
Angela’s new Kiss Club series is a great example of that. The romantic comedy genre is a natural fit for her and the first two stories of the series shine brightly with all the tropes and laugh out loud moments you hope for when reading a rom-com. Late Night Kiss (Book 2) releases October 12 and quickly became my favorite book by her because it sucked me right in and I couldn’t put it down. I read the ARC while on a plane and the other passengers probably thought I was crazy because I kept laughing at all the shenanigans she always involves her characters in.
The other thing I always enjoy is she incorporates animals into her books. As an avid animal lover, I love reading about characters with pets and Angela not only writes them into her stories, but also includes them on her covers. Reading about Riley, the German Shepherd in Blindsided, and Addison, the Golden Retriever in the Kiss Club books, were some of my favorite moments. And the fact that Addison was inspired by her own very special golden was a beautiful tribute.
When I first stepped into the book world, Angela was the first friend I made, and it was the best thing that could’ve happened to me. She is always there---whether you need to laugh, cry or share a success or failure---and I couldn’t be more grateful. You will truly never find a more genuine person. On top of that, she’s a talented storyteller who will give you all the feels while reading one of her books. She has that magical ability to make you laugh one minute and cry the next. But rest assured, no animals were harmed in the writing of her books lol! (I made sure of that while reading Blindsided when it took a daring turn).
So, if you haven’t read a book by Angela Taylor yet, what the heck are you waiting for? They’re all made up of feel-good, bright and shiny words that will make your heart happy and your Kindle smile.
