Author Spotlight: Aly Stiles
Hit Me With the Feels!
The more romance novels I read, the more new authors I find, the more books I love. Pretty amazing right? I mean, I am never ever without something amazing to read. And as I exhaust one author’s backlist, I dive into another and another and another. And at this point in my romance reading journey, one hundred percent of the new-to-me authors I read arrive on my radar thanks to other readers and authors.
And as much as she likes to accuse me of being a shameless TBR enabler, Julie Collier is no slouch in that department herself. Thanks to her, I found Aly Stiles, and just reading her blurbs makes me want to dive into her entire backlist and live there for a while. But since I haven’t had a chance to do that yet, I dove into Julie’s brain for details about why she loves Aly so much.
No real surprise, Julie doesn’t remember exactly how she heard about Aly Stiles, but she’s infinitely glad she did. Diving into Aly’s novel Night Shifts Black led Julie to a serious series binge. Julie loves the way Aly always brings reality into her stories. Stories that take readers on the character’s emotional rollercoaster and healing. Featuring rockstars with real pasts and mental health issues, Aly doesn’t hide the hard stuff, but handles it all with care. And while she brings some heat, too, readers should be prepared for an emotional ride.
As a musician as well as an author, most of Aly’s books have authentic musical elements. She knows the struggles of musicians and you’ll feel it come through in her writing. There’s a true authenticity to that lifestyle element that brings her characters and their stories to life.
I remember encountering Aly Stiles’s name when I was reading LJ Evans’s Painted Daisy series and binging her playlists. After listening to one song, I quickly fell down that rabbit hole and added several of Aly’s songs to my personal playlist. They’re deeply moving, and her voice is stunning.
I cannot wait to dive into Aly’s novels, binge her entire backlist, and meet her. She’s going to be joining us at Charm City Romanticon 2024 and I am so freaking excited!
