The Marriage Solution
Intensely Genuine with Serious Sizzle
Raw, and honest, and beautiful, and steamy, and heartfelt, and swoonworthy, and simply wonderful. Yes, it can be difficult to dive into a book when there are serious and heavy topics in play. But when the book is written with so much heart, by an author who knows the playing field, and brings the storyline to the characters with engaging honesty, it’s a book that’s 1000% worth immersing yourself in. The Marriage Solution by Stephanie Rose is one of those books.
Rose does an exceptional job of creating two characters who fit each other so perfectly, it’s hard to ever imagine them as anything but a team, a couple, a perfect HEA. Best friends to lovers is often an angst-filled trope, but the progression of Julie and Landon’s relationship is so fluid and engaging, readers are able to really fall into their story and appreciate their journey to their inevitable and wonderful HEA without peeking through their fingers to make sure it’s all going to be okay. Add in a credible and original situation surrounding the marriage of convenience trope, one many readers can relate to, and their story takes on another level of authenticity and urgency.
The true beauty of this story is in the strength in the characters’ relationship together and the goal they each have in beating the stigma Julie carries of being "unlovable" because she has a chronic illness. Julie exhibits a beautiful sense of vulnerability as she learns to blend her need for independence with the understanding she can rely on Landon to be an amazing support system. And Landon is the quintessential cinnamon roll hero, wanting to solve all the problems and ultimately learning he can protect Julie’s fierce need for independence while also being the support system she truly needs. The conviction to be exactly what the other needs woven throughout the novel, and the growth both Julie and Landon go through to find their reliance and connection, is encouraging and heartwarming, and brings a genuine intensity to the characters and the storyline.
Outside of the intense emotional connection Julie and Landon have, their physical connection is sensual and electric and sizzles on every page. There is no way to remove the pull they have toward each other, and no reason to even try. And it all combines to create a story readers can sink their hearts and souls into. The Marriage Solution is a standalone novel and the perfect book to immerse yourself into with hot tea, a cuddly blanket, and tissues.
