The Billionaire is Back
S’more Than Just a RomCom
Clear your calendar, tell everyone you know you have plans, lock yourself in a comfy room with your favorite baked goods and beverage, and snuggle in with The Billionaire is Back (TBIB) by Kayley Loring and Connor Crais. Trust me, you’ll thank me.
TBIB is so incredibly good. It’s a character driven funride chock full of snark and sass, heat and heart, and deliciously decadent humor. The banter and innuendo is perfection, highlighting each character’s inner dreams and desires alongside their craving for connections (and confections). The icing on the cake (or muffin) is that this story is so much more than a romcom. It really does pull so many emotions to the surface, and it’s easy to get sucked into believing the characters are real and right next door, not just beautifully vivid figments of the authors’ imaginations. Beyond that, I really love how the main plot intersects seamlessly with the sub and side plots, creating an even more rich and robust storyline.
Not only is the dialogue and banter on point, it drives the plot with excellent pacing and flow. And is perfectly written for an incredible audiobook. The story absolutely comes to life through the narration of Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais. Almost like it was written for them. Even the side characters are perfectly performed adding even more layers to the entertainment and appreciation of the tale.
TBIB is a standalone (hopefully) series starter and can absolutely be read (or listened to) as a complete standalone. Just be prepared to want to binge everything else Kayley, Connor, and Samantha have ever written and/or narrated.
