Perfectly Fine
Perfectly Beautiful
Perfectly Fine is a beautifully written whirlwind of a novella to match an equally beautiful whirlwind romance. It's glitz and glamor, but it's also so real and personal. And LJ Evans kept me completely invested and enthralled in all of it. It’s incredible to me how so much can be said in fifty pages—under an hour from start to finish—and after going from giddy, to furious, to crying, and finally rejoicing, I felt completely satisfied and still wanting more. Gemma and Rex get their HEA, that’s for sure, but I fell in love with them so much I am just as interested in what comes next.
LJ’s language always evokes such incredibly vivid images, and she certainly pulled out all of the passion, the angst, the frustration, and the joy in every single word. And while Gemma is a familiar face to readers who’ve read The Last One You Loved, Rex is a completely new actor in the mix, and Perfectly Fine definitely reads as a standalone story. This book was definitely Gemma’s chance to shine, and she owned that spotlight. Perfectly paired with Rex, the chemistry in their opposites-attract romance does justice to their instalove romance, and even to their eventual HEA. And even while there’s a bit of a bumpy ride to get there, it is so incredibly worth it.
