Mistletoe and Mochas
Heartfelt & Steamy Holiday Read
Mistletoe and Mochas by Patricia D Eddy is yet another holiday novella I shut out the world for. I devoured it in one sitting, completely entranced by Mac and Devan’s story. With the perfect amount of suspense and intrigue, heat, and heart, this story of a wounded and broken soldier and a determined and caring coffee shop owner spoke to my soul. I quickly fell for both Devan and Mac and loved seeing their HEA come together, overcoming some serious barriers that drew them together and threatened to pull them apart.
Eddy’s story reaches beyond the typical holiday happy vibes, painting a vivid picture of a man recovering from both physical and emotional pain and the woman who helps him restore his faith in life and love. Both Devan and Mac’s individual backstories are well-developed throughout the novella, and their present and future together build on the foundations of their wants, needs, and desires. In a very short amount of time, and words, readers get a beautiful portrait of how perfect the characters’ connection is.
A complete standalone story, Mistletoe and Mochas touches on themes and situations prevalent in many of Eddy’s other stories. Readers can jump right in here, but definitely be prepared to seek out other books Eddy has written. Her writing style is smooth and effortless, descriptive and emotional, and definitely something I enjoy in all of her books.
