Stunningly Heartfelt Series Starter
I know I’m in for an emotional treat when I dive into a book by Avery Maxwell. And Love Notes & LIfelines did not disappoint. Maxwell brings incredible depth of emotion, wonderfully authentic characters, epic banter, and the perfect level of steam to a completely new series, and I am here for it.
As always, Maxwell showcases her beautifully developed characters through so much heart and genuine emotions. I savored the interactions and intimacy between Beck and Stella. Are they perfect? Definitely not, but who is? And that’s what makes their story so good. They are perfectly imperfect individuals, but the ultimate force to be reckoned with together.
And while the main focus is on her main characters, Avery still shines a spotlight on every person she puts on the page. Emmy and Ruby were vital elements and characters in the story, not props or afterthoughts, and will steal your heart while they steal the show. In fact, there were no throw-away characters in this story. The lives on the pages entwined seamlessly, weaving plots lines together and creating layers that demanded my attention and interest.
Love Notes & LIfelines is book one in Maxwell’s Single Dad Hotline series, and if this is any indication of how intense and immersive the other books will be, I am one hundred percent here for all of it.
