Author Spotlight: Riley Edwards

Steamy Suspense. Sexy Warriors

Superfans are the best. Seriously, they are. And I’m not talking about rabid fans who go overboard, because yes, I know they exist. I’m talking about fans, in this case readers, who devour everything an author has to offer. Who tell everyone they know about the author and their books. Who grab the latest new release immediately and dive into it without delay. Sometimes these superfans have huge social media presences, but sometimes they’re your friendly neighborhood reader, doing their part to share within their comfort zone.

I tend to fall somewhere in the middle. My social media presence is active and I tend to share what I love easily and often. But my friend Susy finds her comfort level in dropping into our group chat each time one of her favorites releases a new book. And most of the time, it’s a book by Riley Edwards. Because Susy is definitely a Riley Edwards superfan. So when I was reaching out to a reader to be my guest blogger for Riley’s spotlight week, Susy was the easy and immediate choice.

This week, enjoy a little Q&A with Susy about all the things Riley Edwards:

Brayzen Bookwyrm (BB): How did you hear about/ find Riley Edward’s books?

Superfan Susy (Susy): It was in a reader group and it’s been so long I can’t honestly say which one deserves the credit. But i'm so happy it was mentioned as I have done plenty of rereads with her books.

BB: What types of books/ romance subgenres do Riley’s books incorporate?

Susy: Romance, steamy suspense, action, possessive alphas, military, tight family and friendships

BB: What common themes do you find through her books?

Susy: Found family and the protectiveness of all of them. Whether they are dating or not, everyone involved is protected like family. Her men are also very bada$$ swoony heroes who will make you melt.

BB: What do you like most about her books?

Susy: You feel part of the characters' world and they are your family after the first book, so if one hurts, you hurt with them. She writes deep, raw, real life experiences that one has encountered at one time or another.

BB: What types of readers are most likely to be drawn to her books?

Susy: Reader who like romantic suspense, military, and protected family

BB: What else should readers know about Riley and her books?

Susy: Some books will make you cry, so get those tissues ready, while others will make you laugh so hard you have to stop just to breathe again. Also, good luck saying you're going to read just one book. You will fall hard and next thing you know you’re deep in her 2 universes and 50+ books in. She does have a few standalones, but i'm not the friend that suggests standalones 😏

Just the facts:

First book you read by Riley: Nightstalker

Fave book by Riley: This question shouldn't be asked, lol. All of them?? Gabe was #1 but then Playing with Lies came out and that one topped it.

Fave Riley character: All the girls! There isn't one girl in her books who isn't a bada$$.

Fave Riley cover: If you open your kindle and type In Riley Edwards and scroll through it, tell me how you can just choose one??? But if i have to pick, Gabe and Nightstalker.

I have to agree with Susy on the covers. They are stunning. When I was talking with Riley recently about coming to Charm City Romanticon, and getting set up for her spotlight week, she offered to giftaway some audiobook codes for two of her books. One of them is Damaged. Of course I had to pull it up to see which one it was, and my eye caught on the cover for Damaged right away, because, well, Chase Ketron’s on it. And then I checked out the narrators. And yes, I currently have MacKenzie Cartwright and Connor Crais in my ears. And I am 100% loving it.

Did I jump in to a series at the beginning? Yes. Do I expect to binge the entire series as well? Absolutely. But I also noticed right away that this book has ties to prior books she’s written. So you know what else I’ll be doing? Yep, a backlist binge. And I am so here for it.

Oh, and yes, I did say Riley is coming to Charm City Romanticon next month. And I cannot wait to see her. I have a feeling Susy can’t wait either.
