Author Spotlight: Kaylee Rose
Real Romance with Heart and Soul
Sometimes I become aware of an author through something book related, but not the books they write. That’s the case with Kaylee Rose. I found Kaylee through Julie Collier and my first introduction to Kaylee was through The Redhead’s Book Blog. I love checking out what other bloggers are reading. Because, let’s be honest, TBR enablers gotta stick together.
In addition to blogging and writing novels, Kaylee puts her creative brain to work designing amazing author swag, including the custom author tumblers that I love and use constantly. Her on-line store is stocked with lots of goodies created with her readers, and readers in general, in mind.
I finally got to meet Kaylee at Charm City Romanticon 2023, and after lots of happy fangirl hugs, we had a chance to hang out and chat about so many bookish things. And yes, we talked ads on social media and retail platforms, reader groups, blogging, and book events, but we had the most fun talking about some of the hilarious and irreverent items she stocked in her shop at the time, including the adorable, plushy, stuffed peen now sitting on my desk at home.
Kaylee is a true laugh riot, entertaining a group of us for hours with stories of shenanigans in Romancelandia. And woven within each conversation was the true joy she has for helping others learn things the easy way that she learned the hard way.
Since I haven’t read Kaylee’s books (yet!), I reached out to St@lkerSister and Kaylee fan, Susy, for some insight into Kaylee’s novels.
Susy found Kaylee Rose during covid when she was looking for new books to read. She was mentioned as a suggestion in one of the reader groups Susy was in, and once she read the blurb for Family of Blue, she knew it was exactly what she was looking for.
Kaylee writes Contemporary Protector Romance and Sports Romance stories with strong elements of family, especially families coming together to protect their own. As the wife of a LEO, she’s able to bring a different perspective than someone who writes without having lived it. And as a wife of a former LEO, Susy found a special connection in Kaylee’s Weight of the Badge series. Her writing hit home and dug into Susy’s feelings. The writing resonated with her and she dove into the series for an emotional binge read. Susy’s recommendation for that binge read: Lots and lots of tissues.
Readers who love bodyguard, protector, and security guard books, and stories with strong family dynamics are going to love Kaylee’s books.
Kaylee also has a brand new sports romance series, The Venom Baseball Romance series, that debuted in March of 2023. As a fan of sports romance books myself, I am excited to dive into this series!
I’m also really excited to see Kaylee at CCR in April of 2024. I know she’s already working on event exclusive swag like tumblers, mugs, stickers, and she’s got a few more surprises up her sleeve as well.
