The Wanted One
Some Titles (and Stories) are Just Too Perfect
I’ve had my eye on Jack London for a while. And not just because the character’s name resonates with the former English Teacher in me, but because Brittney Sahin has done a stellar job of creating a side character who was one of my favorite book boyfriends from the minute he stepped on the page. Experiencing him getting his HEA in The Wanted One was everything I’ve wanted for him.
Jack was always the class clown of Falcon Falls, always ready with a quip to lighten the mood, with a sense of humor and purpose that hid a heart longing to be wanted by his “the one.” And Sahin may have made him wait five books, but boy did she deliver. The Wanted One is a fast-paced, steamy, thrill ride worthy of action-adventure film fame.
Infusing elements of forced proximity and suspense with an age gap, he-falls-first narrative, Jack and Charley’s story comes to life with incredible humor and remarkable heart. Watching a strong yet vulnerable hero win over such a wonderfully complex and vulnerable, yet capable heroine was pure excitement and joy. The chemistry between Jack and Charley is intense and incendiary, a beautiful balance of caution and impulse; desire and discretion.
Fueling the fire within this story, Sahin also blends elements of the relationships among the Falcon Falls team with outside forces to build even more tension, angst, suspense, and anticipation. And while Jack works hard to secure his ultimate HEA, the stage is set to propel the remaining team members forward along the path to their own destinies.
