The Proposal
Great Introduction to a New-to-Me Author
When an author has been on my radar for a while, and a book bestie tells me I need to read their latest book for a bookclub-ish discussion, and I dive into that book and find a new favorite author, I am a very happy reader. And The Proposal by Adriana Locke was one of those wonderful experiences. I was instantly attached to both Renn and Blakely and fell even harder for them as I got to know them and see them together. I’m already a sucker for brother’s best friend, marriage of convenience stories, but add in fantastic humor and serious steam and I am a goner!
The pacing set in this whirlwind romance was fantastic. There was zero lag, in the story or their relationship. And the solid emotional connections between the characters (both the main characters and their supporting cast of friends and family) really allowed the author to bring in the perfect balance of angst and attraction. Those connections also allowed Locke to build up even more excitement for future books centered around Renn’s family. And after seeing how Renn and Blakely’s HEA came about, I cannot wait to see what Locke has in store for the rest of them!
