Every story I read has characters who become part of my heart, but some work their way right to my soul. Jesse and Ella from Brittney Sahin’s The Broken One are two of those characters. Characters I never could seem to get enough of. Their backstory was carefully and wonderfully woven through multiple books before they got their well-deserved HEA, but I always wanted more.
Enter an amazing and unexpected collaboration of author and actor/cover model. The Lost Letters is a true treat, penned by author Brittney Sahin and Joseph Cannata (actor/model/ and muse for two of Sahin’s characters), that brings Ella and Jesse’s backstory to life. Not your ordinary novella, Letters includes, well, letters, but also narrative chapters, a playlist, forewords by both authors, bonus scenes, and other fun extras readers will truly appreciate.
Not a “retelling,” this is more of an addendum. It’s a compilation of previously released bonus scenes and brand new material that truly brings the characters and their relationship to life. It’s steamy and passionate, but also gut wrenching and intense, with a healthy dose of humor and heart. And since Jesse’s letters are written by Cannata and Ella’s by Sahin, the blend of voices really helps bring an extra level of texture and tone to their stories.
I highly recommend you read The Broken One before The Lost Letters. It will be worth it, for many reasons. And honestly, while you’re at it, read Sahin’s Stealth Ops series. It will provide an even more amazing deep dive into Jesse and Ella as well as the family and friends who help them finally understand and reach the most incredible happily ever after.
