The Fallen One

Immersive, Enthralling, Captivating. An Instant 1-Click Read

Writing a book around a character readers have been eagerly awaiting has got to be one of the most difficult challenges an author can face. How do you ever create their story to the standards fans have already created in their mind? Ask Brittney Sahin, because she’s done it. In one of her most anticipated books, Sahin brings Carter Dominick to vivid life in The Fallen One.

The Fallen One is easily one of Sahin’s most intense and emotional stories. And, as expected, her steamiest. The glimpses readers have gotten of the mysterious, resourceful, broody billionaire only scratch the surface of who Carter Dominick really is, and what he’s ultimately capable of.

Carter’s backstory is meticulously created, bringing readers into his life prior to his original introduction in Sahin’s Chasing Fortune before Sahin propels them along on a wild ride of mystery and intrigue, suspense and chaos, dark and light, passion and seduction, culminating in Carter’s epic and ultimate HEA.

Not only is Carter Dominick so much deeper and more intense than I could have ever imagined, his HEA comes at the hands of someone so incredibly perfect for him, it’s jaw-dropping. Diana was the most unexpected character ever, and I fell in love with her immediately. Intelligent and witty, resourceful and determined, she also carries a sense of vulnerability and empathy that just makes her even more perfect for Carter. Where he’s dark, she’s light. And while it may sound cliche, the way she pulls him back to who he needs to be, wants to be, is extraordinary.

Far from being just a love story, The Fallen One embodies everything romantic suspense readers crave. Sahin does a remarkable job of spinning a tale with twists and subplots that intersect in heart-pounding chase scenes and gut-wrenching revelations. As the pieces begin to fall together, so do Carter’s walls, and the morally gray hero accepts his fate alongside his Angel. Yes, you will need tissues.

Readers familiar with her Dublin Nights, Stealth Ops, and Falcon Falls series will enjoy some wonderful cameo opportunities as Sahin’s characters’ lives intersect. They are masterfully woven into the action and intensity, a true testament to the depth of Sahin’s characters and her backlist. And while The Fallen One can be read as a standalone, with a fully encapsulated plot and resolution and an HEA, once you get to know these characters you will want even more of them.
