Pack Dutton: Part 1
Incredible Omegaverse Series Starter
Whether you’re looking for a way to slide into the Omegaverse, or you’ve been here all along, Pack Dutton: Part 1 is one book you do not want to miss. Is it dark? Yes. Steamy? Most definitely. Intense? You betcha. Will it pull on every heartstring, ignite your sense of righteous indignation, and make you crave more time with Hazel, Crew, Kellan, Rhett, and Jude? Absofreakinglutely.
If you’re not familiar with Omegaverse novels and you want to give one a try, Megan Cain (who writes steam dark romance as Hannah McBride) does a fantastic job of introducing you to the ins and outs of the subgenre. Readers familiar with Omegaverse novels will revel in immersing themselves in a new world that brings their favorite tropes and conventions together. The plot is intense, the characters are beautifully well-developed, and the intricacies of the relationships are wonderfully thought out, layered, and interwoven.
And yes, there’s a heroine you will fall in love with, heroes you will swoon over, side characters who will steal your heart, and villains you will absolutely love to see get their due. The banter between the characters is beautifully authentic, perfectly paced, and expertly interlaced with descriptive and powerful narrative.
Cain tackles some very heavy and very dark themes, so please heed the content advice in the listing and the book. Hazel’s journey is not an easy one, but it’s a stark reminder from a fictional world that things are not always what they seem, lives can change in an instant, and finding your fated destiny may not be smooth or easy. And Hazel’s journey may be incomplete at the end of part 1, but having come to know what a strong, feisty soul she is, and how absolutely feral her pack is for her, I know part 2 is going to be absolutely worth the wait.
