Operation: Free Fall

FTP For the Win! (IYKYK)

Say it isn’t so!  I am not ready to say goodbye to the Slater Security crew yet, but loved diving into Flyboy Finn’s story nonetheless. Charissa Gracyk knows how to bring the heat, elevate your heart rate, and immerse you in a fantastic story, and Operation: Free Fall brings all the feels and action with the most wonderful HEA for the last Slater team member standing.

Never one to shy away from action, Gracyk drops readers into it from the get-go. Ivy and Finn may have a turbulent start, but once they reach cruising altitude, it’s anything but smooth sailing. And it’s a glorious mix of running from their own feelings and running from the bad guys until it all comes to a perfect culmination of passion and protectiveness.

Finn is incredible book boyfriend material, smooth and suave, but so much more than what he shows the world. I love that he falls first, fast, and hard. Watching his persistence pay off, while he proves he’s perfect for Ivy, is both heartwarming and humorous. He may love being the good-time guy, but when push comes to shove, he is all hero intensity and swoony devotion to his intended HEA.

And Ivy is everything I love in an action adventure, romantic suspense heroine.  She has her moments of vulnerability and second-guessing, times of doubt and stubborn indecision, but once he recognizes her true feelings for Finn and accepts what her heart is telling her, she falls hard too. I love watching them find each other, and find understanding in their similar fears, doubts, and desires.

Saying goodbye to the Slater team is rough, but knowing I can go back and relive all of their stories through a nice series binge reread is an acceptable comfort. Because these characters have worked their way into my heart and soul, showing that love and longing are powerful forces, and a true HEA is always around the corner of every heart-pounding, pulse-racing, steam-fueled adventure.
