Command and Control
Holy, Wow!
I have read everything by Jemma Westbrook, and her alter-ego contemporary counterpart Janice Whiteaker, and nothing prepared me for the steam and intensity that is Vincent and Julieanne’s story. And when I say she took this book to the next level, I mean it. Plotline, characters, seggsy time, suspense—Command and Control has it all!
One of the really wonderful things about this book (besides the edge-of-your seat intrigue and seriously steamy intensity between the two main characters, of course) is that you can jump into this story whether you’re a long-time reader or brand new to Westbrook’s books. It is definitely related to her Alaskan Security series, but whether you dive in here or wade in from the beginning, everything you need to know about Vincent and Julianne’s HEA is in this story. No overarching plotlines to unravel. No massive backlist of characters to know. Just plunge in right here.
Oh, and make sure you have snacks, turn on your do-not-disturb notification for everything in your life, and settle in to a comfy spot. Once you pick this one up, you won’t want to put it down until you have absorbed every last crumb of goodness Westbrook dishes up.
Seriously, be prepared to luxuriate in the deep end of the pool. Because Command and Control is deep. On multiple levels. The connection between Julieanne and Vincent is intense. Both characters are beautifully developed through epic banter, beautiful internal monologue, vivid observations by and of each other, and their journey is solidly established and meticulously traced from initial contact to their ultimate HEA.
If Command and Control is your first foray into Westbrooks Alaskan Security universe, welcome to the club. I hope you’re in for an epic binge after you finish this one. If you’re a seasoned Westbrook veteran, your wait for Vincent has all been worth it. Enjoy!
